The web as we know it is slowly condensing into what appears to be some sort of monopolised capitalistic hellscape that assumes tech literacy is a high standard (or at least, a lack thereof is an advantage to companies) and rips our rights, privacy, and joy from under our feet. This is my attempt to try and stand up to it.

Hello! I’m Q, and I made this big ol’ Notion Wiki Site Thing to save me and anyone else who finds my blog running around in my Tumblr archive looking for That One Thing they need.

Generally, I made the #q’s internet trinkets tag as a whole just to save my favourite links, all those useful websites that make life on the web so, so much easier. I’ve been a big fan of useful/useless websites for years and years, whether I’m bored or I just need an easy/interesting way to do something.

As the years have gone by however, I’ve noted the web has slowly, slowly become more hostile. More and more unfriendly to the typical person who needs it for emails and a bit of news doomscrolling and maybe binge-watching Bee and Puppycat on occasion.

So, this is my big effort to do something about it.

This wiki is for:

99.9% of the content here is free to access at a basic level or in its entirety, because I wholeheartedly believe if you’re already paying for your dang internet you don’t need to be wrung out of more money if you’re already tight on cash.

I also strive to make sure any website I include here is not wholly/entirely based around AI, barring Notion since that’s where this thing is hosted, due to my own personal stance on the matter.

If you’re able to, however, please consider donating to the creators with a purchase of their work or by simply sharing it with your friends. Thank you! 💙

On one note, I’m going to take a leaf out of Tom Scott’s book here…

Apparently a few people left YouTube comments last week that were like "hello newsletter subscribers"? Please don't do that! It just seems like spam to the people receiving them. If you're going to leave a comment, try to leave something that's pleasant or relevant, not junk. And if you see someone else leaving junk comments, please just quietly give it a thumb-down and move on so they don't get picked up by the Algorithms. Thanks!”

Please don’t leave any nudging comments like that leading back to here; just support the creator with using the service or leaving a nice comment :)

And… is that it? I think I forgot something. Oh, right!

A massive disclaimer:

I am just the person hosting the links here.
